THE EVENT
The Burrup Mountain Bike Club is hosting Doctor Baynton’s 6 Hour Remedy Mountain Bike Race on Saturday 15th of June 2019. The event runs from 1500hrs until 2100hrs with the start/finish and event village at Karratha BMX Track on Rosemary Road, Karratha.
CATEGORIES
SOLO FEMALE and MALE (minimum age 19)
VETERAN SOLO FEMALE and MALE (minimum age 50)
DUO MALE, FEMALE and MIXED
JUNIOR -Team of 4 (full course) or Team of 6 (short course). * Juniors must adhere to MTBA maximum ride times which have been updated for 2018.
Registration costs
If registering a duo or team, the total team cost is based on the max number of riders in each category e.g. Duo Team costs $90, team of up to 4 costs $190. There are no discounts if a team does not have a full compliment of riders. Junior team cost is $40 for team of up to 4 or $60 for team of up to 6. Event sign on will commence at 1000hrs and close at 1300hrs. The race briefing will be conducted at 1445hrs. The event will conclude with presentations and a very social post race wind down around a bonfire. Food and drinks will be available at the event village located at the Karratha BMX Track.
JUNIOR RIDERS
Juniors will ride the social short loop in team of 6 or the full course as a team of 4. Any Junior who will be 11
THE COURSE
A feed station will be available in the transition area and riders/teams will have the opportunity to establish camp in the event village. Vehicle movement into and out of the village will cease at 1430hrs. Vehicles will NOT be able to remain in the village area.

Whether riding tubes or tubeless the great majority of riders are also running with sealant. Most riders are on dual suspension bikes.

PRIZES
Prize money will be paid for 1st, 2nd and 3rd for Solos as a minimum. Other categories will receive prize money where funds allow. A prize for best outfits and other spot prizes will be awarded on the day.

Karratha is serviced by both major supermarket chains, Kmart, Target and numerous specialty stores. Most things are generally available however if you have any particular nutritional requirements for your race you should confirm availability prior or bring it with you.
