As part of celebrating 25 years, now is the ideal time to reposition the club with a transition from the existing Burrup name to Karratha.
This change is a closer reflection of who the club represents now and going forward.
Please take a look at the following copy acknowledging the traditional owners that may be used on the home page of the website:
On behalf of the Burrup Mountain Bike Club (BMBC), we would like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which we ride. We pay our respects to their elders, past and present, and recognise their ongoing connection to this land.
The BMBC is committed to preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of this region. We recognise the importance of the land to the traditional owners and strive to work in partnership with them to ensure its protection and conservation.
We are honoured to be able to ride on this land and are grateful for the opportunity to experience its beauty and wonder. As we ride, we do so with respect for the land and its people, and with a deep appreciation for the rich cultural heritage that surrounds us.
