Juniors (under 19 years) will ride the social short loop in team of 6 or the full course as a team of 4.  Any Junior who will be 11 and above can ride any category except solo.  . The team must ensure they manage the Junior’s total ride time for the event to ensure it does not exceed the time applicable to their age as per the MTBA Junior policy for XC Endurance events as per below. For the purposes of this policy age is determined as at 31 December 2018.

Any team that is found to exceed junior ride times will be disqualified.

A limited number of club bikes will be available for loan. Click here to view the available bikes and complete a booking form. Please allow plenty of time to organise pickup of the bike.

A feed station will be available in the transition area and riders/teams will have the opportunity to establish camp in the event village. Vehicle movement into and out of the village will cease at 1430hrs. Vehicles will NOT be able to remain in the village area.

Check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izWaHGRFFNU for some footage of riding around Karratha.  Parts of this are included in the 6 hour course. Here is a bit more of last year’s course http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1w6AGig6gQ. Karratha riding tends to be pretty hard on tyres with lots of sharp edged rocks. Whether riding tubes or tubeless the great majority of riders are also running with sealant. Most riders are on dual suspension bikes.

Live race results can be found here

Prize money will be paid for 1st, 2nd and 3rd for Solos as a minimum.  Other categories will receive prize money where funds allow. A prize for best outfits and other spot prizes will be awarded on the day.
